PRP uses the patient’s own blood, processed to concentrate:

PRP is injected into the skin to support healing, regeneration and skin rejuvenation
Although no medical or cosmetic treatment can guarantee rejuvenation or specific outcomes, there are over 8,000 published medical studies support PRP use in healing and regeneration.

PRP treatments are typically performed:
2–3 initial sessions
4–8 weeks apart (1–2 months)
Maintenance treatments may be recommended:
Every 6–12 months
Each session involves:
Blood collection
PRP extraction via centrifuge
Injection into the skin (approximately 1.5–2 mm depth)

PRP is not guaranteed to:
Rejuvenate the skin
Reverse ageing
Achieve a specific cosmetic outcome
Improvements are typically:
Gradual
Seen over weeks to months
Best results require:
Completion of the recommended treatment plan
Ongoing maintenance treatments

Platelet disorders or blood disorders
Active cancer
Currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
Acute or chronic infections
Current antibiotic use
Anti-coagulation therapy
(Warfarin is not an absolute PRP contraindication but may affect suitability for the procedure)Use of oral corticosteroids within 10 days prior to treatment
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
(Non-medically urgent procedures are best postponed)

Common post-treatment responses:
Redness
Swelling
Tenderness
Itching sensation
These reactions are normal and usually resolve within a few days
Swelling following eye treatments may last longer
Most patients resume normal activities within 24–48 hours

Common & Expected (Temporary)
Redness at injection sites
Swelling (most noticeable within the first 48 hours)
Tenderness or soreness
Mild itching
Bruising at:
Injection sites
Cannula or blood collection sites
Less Common
Prolonged swelling
Increased tenderness
Dizziness or fainting (often anxiety-related)
Rare but Possible
Infection at the injection site
Significant or worsening pain
Persistent redness or swelling
Injury to a blood vessel, nerve, or muscle
(Extremely rare due to shallow injection depth)
Contact the clinic immediately if you experience:
Increasing pain
Spreading redness
Signs of infection
Symptoms that persist or worsen

Immediately After Treatment
Mild redness, swelling, tenderness or itching is normal
These effects generally resolve within a couple of days
Activity & Lifestyle
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
Do not smoke
Sleep elevated on two pillows to reduce swelling
Avoid touching the treated area for at least 4 hours
Heat, Sun & Treatments
Avoid intense heat and sun exposure, including:
Saunas
Solariums
Avoid the following for 2 weeks unless advised otherwise:
Facials
Facial waxing
Glycolic or AHA peels
IPL or energy-based treatments
Microdermabrasion
Always check with your clinician before undergoing other facial treatments during this period
Skincare & Makeup
Do not use active skincare products, including:
AHA
Retinols
Vitamin C
Avoid massaging the treated area unless instructed
No makeup until the day after treatment is ideal
Pain & Supportive Care
Paracetamol may be taken if required, as directed by your clinician
Anti-inflammatory medications should be avoided unless advised
LED therapy (in-clinic or at home) may be beneficial and is available through the clinic

A follow-up appointment is recommended approximately 4 weeks after treatment
Regular treatments may be advised to:
