Teeth Whitening

Treatment Information, Risks & Aftercare

    • Teeth whitening is designed to lighten the colour of natural teeth

    • Significant whitening can be achieved in most cases

    • Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed

    • Whitening outcomes depend on:

      • Natural tooth colour

      • Existing staining

      • Enamel condition

      • Adherence to aftercare instructions

    • Like all cosmetic treatments, teeth whitening has inherent risks and limitations

    • This is a self-administered teeth whitening kit

    • Assistance is provided to ensure correct and safe use

    • A specially designed LED lamp may be used to:

      • Accelerate the whitening process

      • Enhance results

    • Teeth may appear noticeably whiter after treatment

    • Results are not permanent and may fade over time

    • Maintenance treatments may be required

    • Whitening does not change the colour of:

      • Crowns

      • Veneers

      • Fillings

      • Bonding

    • Temporary tooth sensitivity may occur

    • Sensitivity typically:

      • Is mild

      • Resolves within a few hours

    • If whitening gel contacts soft tissue (gums, lips, skin):

      • Temporary white spots may appear

      • These usually resolve within a few hours

    • No downtime required

    • Temporary sensitivity or mild irritation may occur

    • Teeth are more porous for 24–48 hours post-treatment

    • Strict aftercare during this period is essential to:

      • Maintain results

      • Prevent re-staining
